Rajdhani Vatika is a gorgeous eco-park located at Bailey Road in Punaichak area. The Environment and Forest Department and Government of Bihar initiated this eco-park in October 2011. The large lush green area consists of jogging track (1191 meter), a children’s corner and pathway (1445 meter). The main motive to develop this eco-park is to reduce the rush found on the Sanjay Gandhi Botanical Garden.
There are two major sections in this park. The entrance gate comes under the first section. It also consists of open walking space and children’s corner. The beautifully carved landscape remains suitable for walking and jogging. In the children’s corner, there are numerous play equipment and a variety of swings. You do not have to purchase a separate entry ticket to enter the children’s play area. The first section also consists of Aqua Zorbing. It takes place in a small lake in the park.
Aqua Zorbing is an amusement activity enjoyed by kids and adults. It is an easier and safer sport popular after Paintball. It is a water spot. It is played by placing an individual inside an inflated balloon and discharging into a lake or pool of water. There is no chance for the person to get hurt. The person can walk, jump and do cartwheels without any fear.
Subodh Gupta has constructed a beautiful sculpture that is referred as Cactus Smriti in this eco-park. It is popular and remarkable since it has been crafted using kitchen tools like bowls, spoons, glass, etc. Rajat Ghosh has crafted an architecture – Raja Shailesh is also eye catchy in this eco-park.
The first and second section of the eco-park is connected through an underground tunnel. There are circular ramps in the tunnel. When you see the central portion of the tunnel, you can notice panels showcasing various part of Buddha’s life.
The second section consists of different kinds of parks and thematic forests, lake and Nalanda Ruin Corner. If you are interested to indulge in boating ride, you can enjoy boating for a while in the lake. The astrology aspect is briefed and displayed in the thematic forest.
Nalanda Ruin Corner displays the remains of popular Nalanda University. It was established during the State Centenary Celebration. It recalls the grandeur and greatness of Bihar in ancient days. Moreover, the park even houses a beautiful collection of flora that blooms in various seasons. The appearance of the park varies with the blooming season. It houses about 3000 types of plants.
The park has more than 90,000 visitors every month. It is crowded especially during weekends and public holidays.
The entrance ticket is Rs.5 per person. It is applicable for children above three years old.
If you are bringing a camera or handicam, you need to purchase a separate ticket for camera. It is Rs.50. It is mandatory to purchase camera ticket. If you have not purchased, you will be charged Rs. 100 as fine plus the camera ticket cost.
If you are willing to visit the park every day, you can buy a monthly pass. It is available at Rs.60 per head.
The cost for video recording in this eco-park is Rs.2000.
Rajdhani Vatika Eco Park remains closed on Thursdays.
It is open from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM from March to October.
It is open from 9.00 AM to 7.00 PM from November to February.
There is no entry fee charged for joggers who arrive between 5.00 AM to 8.00 AM.
The boating rates for two-seater is Rs.30, four-seater is Rs.50 for thirty minutes. During weekends, the rates are applicable only for twenty minutes.
The rates for Aqua Zorbing is Rs. 40 per kid and Rs.60 for person above 12 years of age.
