Eco Park in Madurai is located on the western side of Anna Maligai and it spreads up to 5.5 acres. It was set up by the Madurai Corporation. The Eco Park has lots of varieties of herbal trees, almost 124 varieties, and 500 varieties of other trees, both small and big.
There is a huge artificial fountain inside the park. The water of the fountain reaches up to 110 feet. There are various optic fiber trees which remain illuminated. There is an entry fee for the park but it is very minimal.

There are various nearby attractions like Suruli Waterfalls, Viraganur Dam, Vaigai Dam, Rajaji Park, Government Museum and the Gandhi Memorial Museum.

The park has picnic and canteen areas, statues, meadows, picnic tables, swings, slides, kids play area, trees, artificial fountain, and walking area.
It is one of the best places in Madurai where people can go for morning walks. The surroundings are lush greenery and the statues are created from various waste materials which is a very unique concept. They resemble the motor spares. The small play area for the kids is filled with rides where they can enjoy themselves.
The seating arrangement in the park is also very adequate. There is seating arrangement throughout the walking track. It is a nice place to spend free time or visit for a stroll or walk.
Eco Park in Madurai attracts both public and tourist. The Madurai Corporation maintains the park and it is completely neat and clean. It has adequate playing equipment and boating too. Imported artificial lighting is also used to light the coconut and palm trees which attracts a lot of tourists in the evening. The lighting makes the park look very beautiful especially in the evening when all the lights are illuminated. It is one of the major attractions in Madurai these days.
